Membership
At SCC, we take membership in the local church very seriously because the New Testament places a high priority on commitment to a local body of believers.
We encourage you to attend our services and get to know our church. We'd love to have you join us for worship.
The documents linked on this page are intended for those who are interested in formally joining SCC as members. Please read through them, and be sure to talk with a pastor about any questions you may have. If you are not yet prepared to become a member, you and your family are more than welcome to attend SCC and participate in its ministries while you continue to consider the wisdom and biblical faithfulness of what membership here involves.
Jesus himself said that living a life to glorify God boils down to this one thing (which is actually two things – but are so united that God commands them as one single thing): Loving God exclusively, ultimately, and completely; and loving others tangibly, sacrificially, and faithfully for His glory (Mark 12:28-33). That should be the ultimate aim of every Christian in every place at every time. That is the greatest commandment.
Here are the basic steps to becoming a member at SCC. They do not necessarily have to happen in this order.
