Making Sense of the Baby
Have you ever wondered why Jesus was born as a baby? If his purpose in coming into the world as a human being was to die, why did he have to live well into adulthood before dying on the Cross? We'll try to make sense of these things in this Christmas Day sermon.
Making Sense of the Manger
In this Christmas Eve sermon, we will consider the role of the manger as a sign from heaven to confirm the birth of Christ and to help us better appreciate the significance of his birth for ourselves.
Making Sense of the Incarnation
This sermon kicks off this year's Advent sermon series, which will seek to make sense of some of the commonly known but often misunderstood aspects of Christ's first coming. This sermon will seek to help us understand the meaning and implications of Christ's Incarnation.
The Serpent Slaying Savior
In this Christmas Eve exposition, we'll turn to the "Protoevangelium" - the first proclamation of the Gospel in the Bible - showing how the purpose of Christ's coming into the world was and is to slay a great and powerful dragon.
A Light for Sinners
Throughout this Advent season we've been meditating upon the promise of Isaiah 9:1-7, which speaks of a coming day when the light of God's forgiving grace would dawn upon a sinful world. In this Christmas Eve sermon, Zach looks to the way Matthew records Jesus' fulfillment of this passage (or at least the first two verses) as he sets off to begin his ministry and what it shows us about God's great love for sinners.
