The Ordinary Means of Grace to the Church
This week we will learn what the Bible tells us about the ordinary means of grace that God extends to His church.
The God Who Deserves Our Devotion
In Genesis 35:1-15, Jacob devotes himself exclusively to YHWH, in response to YHWH’s grace and faithfulness to him. In the same way, we ought to devote ourselves exclusively to God; in response to God’s grace and faithfulness to us. This exposition will focus on the God who deserves our devotion.
Wrestling with God
This exposition will focus upon Jacob's famous wrestling match with a mystery man whom he later identifies as God, and the lessons it teaches all of God's people today.
The Blessings of God
This exposition of Genesis 30:25-43 will give attention to the way God’s blessings come to sinners and what sorts of blessings we ought to value and desire the most.
What do you have to praise God for?
This exposition of Psalm 103 will focus upon the way to cultivate heartfelt, wholehearted, joyful praise to God.
The Gate of Heaven
This exposition of Genesis 28:10-22 focuses on God's grace in revealing himself to sinners and making a way for them to be reconciled to him.
The Judgment & Salvation of the Guilty
Our next exposition of the book of Genesis will focus in on the destruction of Sodom and the salvation of Lot in Genesis 19:1-29.
Leaving Home
This Lord's Day we return to our journey through the book of Genesis and start digging into God's gracious plan to bring salvation to the world through a fallen but faithful man and his descendants.
Heading Toward Redemption
In this exposition of Genesis 11:10-32, we reach the end of the first major section of the book of Genesis. We'll see how this simple genealogy points us to the fulfillment of God's saving promises.
When Jesus Saved a Thief
In this Good Friday sermon, we'll meditate upon the account of "the thief on the Cross" who looked to Jesus for mercy just hours before his death, found in Luke 23:39-43.
A Way of Escape
In our next exposition of Genesis, we'll see God reveal a way of escape from his judgment to Noah, and consider how it points us to the way of salvation through Christ.
God's Response to Sin & Sinners
Returning back to the prologue to the flood narrative in Genesis 6:1-8, we'll meditate upon God's response to sin and sinners, and how that response is one of judgment and salvation.
The Curse & the Consequences
In our next exposition of Genesis, we'll meditate together on the Lord's just and gracious response to sin and sinners in the second half of Genesis 3.
A Light for Sinners
Throughout this Advent season we've been meditating upon the promise of Isaiah 9:1-7, which speaks of a coming day when the light of God's forgiving grace would dawn upon a sinful world. In this Christmas Eve sermon, Zach looks to the way Matthew records Jesus' fulfillment of this passage (or at least the first two verses) as he sets off to begin his ministry and what it shows us about God's great love for sinners.
Unfaithful Teachers & Teachings
As we cross into 1 Timothy 4, we'll look at Paul's warning in 4:1-5 about false teachers in the Ephesian church, identifying the marks and the problems with their teachings and applying Paul's teaching to our local church in the 21st century.
